{"id":22729,"date":"2018-09-10T11:40:27","date_gmt":"2018-09-10T15:40:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/?p=22729"},"modified":"2019-06-18T20:19:52","modified_gmt":"2019-06-19T00:19:52","slug":"att-selects-samsung-technology-supplier-cbrs-5g-initiatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/samsung-newsroom-production.barbariangroup.com\/us\/att-selects-samsung-technology-supplier-cbrs-5g-initiatives\/","title":{"rendered":"AT&amp;T Selects Samsung as a Technology Supplier for CBRS and 5G Initiatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"press-release-open\">DALLAS, September 10, 2018\u00a0\u2013<\/span> <strong>AT&amp;T<\/strong> today announced <strong>Samsung<\/strong> as a technology supplier in two nationwide networks initiatives to bring consumers and businesses the next generation of wireless networks.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung was selected to supply AT&amp;T with equipment for its first <a href=\"https:\/\/about.att.com\/story\/2018\/5g_cbrs_equipment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">5G-ready Citizens Broadband Radio Service<\/a> (CBRS) network solution. Samsung will provide CBRS-compliant radios and base station equipment for AT&amp;T\u2019s CBRS innovative spectrum band which allows both licensed and shared access that helps enable efficient use of finite spectrum resources.<\/p>\n<p>According to the announcement, AT&amp;T will primarily use the CBRS solution to deliver home and enterprise broadband services. Millions of U.S. households lack access to broadband service, and in many cases a fixed wireless access (FWA) architecture can cost-effectively reach homes and businesses where fiber cannot. In AT&amp;T\u2019s release, the company shared plans to introduce mobile 5G in parts of five additional cities \u2013 Houston, Jacksonville, Louisville, New Orleans, and San Antonio \u2013 this year, with plans to keep the momentum going into early 2019.
