It\u2019s not easy changing the world for the better, but with extraordinary partners, anything is possible.<\/p>\n

At the 18th annual Samsung Gives Charity Gala, emceed by Ryan Seacrest on behalf of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation<\/a>, Samsung raised more than $2.4 million, including additional funds raised during the evening’s auction, to help raise awareness for a variety of important social and charitable programs, with the primary goal of raising funds to help people defy barriers and build brighter futures.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a quick look at the star-studded evening at the Manhattan Center\u2019s Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.<\/p>\n

Ryan Seacrest welcomed guests and thanked Samsung for supporting his foundation\u2019s mission to inspire youth through entertainment and education initiatives, adding \u201cI\u2019m proud to announce that with the help of partners like Samsung we have built a Seacrest studio in our 10thpediatric hospital.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Past

Past winners of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow <\/a>STEM contest, which challenges public school 6th<\/sup>to 12th<\/sup>graders to solve a pressing problem in their communities using science, technology, engineering and math, take a photo with Dwyane Wade, the evening\u2019s \u201cChampion of Hope\u201d award recipient for his work with the Wade Family Foundation<\/a> to promote education, health and social skills for children in at-risk situations.<\/p><\/div>\n

Eric LeGrand, representing his charity, Team LeGrand of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, joined Joe Stinziano, Executive Vice President Consumer Business Division at Samsung Electronics America, on stage to talk about his work to find a cure for paralysis and help improve the quality of life for people with spinal cord injuries.<\/p><\/div>\n

Portugal. The Man entertained guests before dinner, playing their songs \u201cLive in the Moment\u201d and \u201cFeel it Still\u201d representing the non-profit Oregon Community Foundation.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"NBA

NBA Champion Dwyane Wade (center), (pictured with two Wade Family Foundation program participants, his sister Tragil Wade and Joe Stinziano, Executive Vice President Consumer Business Division Samsung Electronics America) was honored with the \u201cChampion of Hope\u201d Award for his work with the Wade Family Foundation providing support to community-based organizations that promote education, health and social skills for children in at-risk situations. \u201cWhat I always said to God was if you give me this opportunity to get my family out of this inner city, I would reach back, I would pull others up with me. I would not go alone,\u201d said Wade, adding \u201cI\u2019m thankful to say we\u2019ve been able to accomplish that so far in the Wade Family Foundation.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n
