Now, these companies must prepare for what comes next. Critical to charting the path forward is understanding and navigating the perfect storm of challenges and opportunities that were created by the pandemic. These include a dramatic surge in employee resignations, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/jolts.nr0.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3%<\/a><a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\"><u>[1]<\/u><\/a> of the workforce quitting in both August and September 2021; a startling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trendmicro.com\/vinfo\/us\/security\/research-and-analysis\/threat-reports\/roundup\/attacks-from-all-angles-2021-midyear-security-roundup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1,318%<\/a><a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\"><u>[2]<\/u><\/a> rise in ransomware attacks on the banking industry; and an increasingly digital-first work environment, indicated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idc.com\/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS48040921\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$656 billion<\/a><a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\"><u>[3]<\/u><\/a> \u00a0forecasted to be spent in 2021 on future of work technology.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-48878\" src=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/social-graphics-future-of-finance-1200x627-01-final-950x496.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"730\" height=\"381\" srcset=\"https:\/\/img.us.news.samsung.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/16120143\/social-graphics-future-of-finance-1200x627-01-final-950x496.png 950w, https:\/\/img.us.news.samsung.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/16120143\/social-graphics-future-of-finance-1200x627-01-final-600x314.png 600w, https:\/\/img.us.news.samsung.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/16120143\/social-graphics-future-of-finance-1200x627-01-final.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Samsung\u2019s report surveyed 500 U.S.-based IT decision-makers and 500 U.S.-based employees from financial services and banking organizations to better understand their digital demands and further define their industry\u2019s future. The report showed that half of employees are unsatisfied with their companies\u2019 mobile tech and 69% would likely switch companies for access to better technology. Investing in the right mobile technology will be central to recruitment and retention, as well as collaboration, connection and productivity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The<\/strong> <strong>data security perception gap is your biggest security risk:<\/strong> Data security is an important issue in every industry, but ransomware attacks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trendmicro.com\/vinfo\/us\/security\/research-and-analysis\/threat-reports\/roundup\/attacks-from-all-angles-2021-midyear-security-roundup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">target finance<\/a><a href=\"#_ftn4\" name=\"_ftnref4\"><u>[4]<\/u><\/a> more than any other. Standing in the way of progress on this issue are the perceptions of financial organizations\u2019 own employees. While 63% of IT managers worry about the security of company and customer data when employees work outside the office, only 6% of employees are concerned. To minimize risks, companies need to step up efforts to improve employees\u2019 security literacy<\/li>\n<li><strong>Infrastructure must be prioritized to enable new ways of working:<\/strong> Employees and IT decision-makers naturally have different priorities, but one they share is mobile infrastructure. 86% of employees and 93% of IT managers agree that their organizations need to improve infrastructure over the next five years.
