At the convention, Samsung will highlight its growing portfolio of <a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/search\/?searchTerm=government&amp;sortBy=relevance&amp;startDate=&amp;endDate=&amp;category=&amp;mediaType=posts&amp;currentPage=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">government technology solutions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung will preview its latest <a href=\"https:\/\/insights.samsung.com\/2023\/05\/09\/samsung-announces-new-tactical-edition-portfolio-with-flagship-devices\/\">Tactical Edition mobile devices<\/a> designed to help transform the way military personnel operate, improving situational awareness and decision-making capabilities. The new models are based on Samsung\u2019s flagship <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/us\/smartphones\/galaxy-s23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galaxy S23 smartphone<\/a> and the latest rugged smartphone, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/us\/mobile\/phones\/galaxy-xcover\/galaxy-xcover6-pro-128gb-unlocked-sm-g736uzkexaa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galaxy XCover6 Pro<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These mission-ready smartphones are the next stage in the evolution of Samsung\u2019s tactical mobile technology. With custom software and features, they will seamlessly integrate into a range of peripherals and support requirements of tactical and classified applications, including navigating complex terrain and communications with command units.<\/p>\n\n<p>Both models will leverage the capabilities of Samsung\u2019s latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/us\/smartphones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mobile devices<\/a> and provide warfighters with new technology to give them an edge in the field while providing IT teams with an easy-to-deploy, highly secure solution that meets the demands of a regulated environment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Easy Integration: <\/strong>The new devices are designed to work with applications like the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) and Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Observation Kit (BATDOK) to create a seamless user experience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhanced Connectivity: <\/strong>Both devices come preconfigured with software and purpose-built drivers to support tactical radio and mission device protocols. They will also support conventional cellular capabilities and offer a stealth mode for completely off-grid communications.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Situational Awareness:<\/strong> The solutions are highly durable and built to withstand any tactical environment. Operators can use them at night with night-vision optics, in wet environments with gloves or strapped in a flip-down chest mount.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Defense-Grade Security: <\/strong>Both devices are protected by the defense-grade Samsung <a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/tag\/mobile-security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Knox security platform<\/a>. Knox Dual Data at Rest (DualDAR) meets NSA requirements for protecting confidential data, providing <a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/samsung-knox-guard-enterprises-device-security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two layers of encryption<\/a>, even when powered off.<\/li>\n<li><strong>One Device, All Missions:<\/strong> Both solutions can connect to a larger display and keyboard for a PC-like experience with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/us\/apps\/dex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Samsung DeX<\/a>, enabling a single device to support operations in the field, in a vehicle or on base.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-59015 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/sof_week_2023.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"522\" height=\"171\" \/>In addition to the new Tactical Edition devices, Samsung also announced a collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/insights.samsung.com\/2023\/05\/08\/privoro-samsung-partnership-provides-trusted-control-over-mobile-radios-and-sensors\/\">Privoro<\/a> for a new hardware-to-hardware mobile security capability, available first on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/us\/smartphones\/galaxy-s22\/buy\/galaxy-s22-256gb-verizon-sm-s901ulvevzw\/?modelCode=SM-S901ULVEVZW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galaxy S22<\/a>. The new capability provides a critical shield against the invisible threat posed by modern cyberweapons, helping to protect users from <a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/samsung-message-guard-helps-protect-data-latest-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spyware attacks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This solution uses hardware-to-hardware integration to control the smartphone&#8217;s peripherals \u2014 beginning with the cellular radio and later extending to other radios (NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) and sensors. The integration is designed to remove any single point of failure, providing certainty that sensor and radio hardware can be securely disabled, even if the device\u2019s OS has been compromised.
