As Samsung Electronics America wraps another successful summer internship program<\/a>, we\u2019re celebrating more than just the achievements of our interns\u2014we\u2019re also highlighting what our employees gained from the experience.<\/p>\n

Over the course of 10 weeks, college and university students from across the country joined our teams to gain hands-on experience, connect with Samsung leaders, and explore potential career paths in the world of innovation and technology. They immersed themselves in the day-to-day workings of Samsung, bringing fresh energy and new perspectives to our workplace.<\/p>\n

The responses from Samsung leaders highlight several key themes about the value and impact of the company\u2019s intern program. Across divisions, interns were praised for their adaptability, curiosity and ability to integrate quickly into complex organizational environments.<\/p>\n

Many intern managers were surprised by how confidently and effectively interns navigated the corporate structure, contributed to cross-functional projects, and even led innovative thinking. We commend them for their fresh perspectives, eagerness to learn, and ability to build meaningful connections within Samsung.<\/p>\n

While the focus of the program is certainly on the interns\u2019 hands-on education, it\u2019s safe to say our own Samsung staff took away a few things from this year\u2019s class.<\/p>\n

Some of our intern managers took a moment to reflect on what they learned from them this summer. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. What surprised you most about this year’s interns? Or your intern, specifically?<\/h3>\n
Dana Simone | Division: Display\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n

What surprised me is how quick they are to break barriers and really dive in. Being new, especially at Samsung, can be overwhelming: There are so many stakeholders, teams, and connectors to understand. I really saw that the 2025 summer interns dove in headfirst and were able to fully integrate themselves into the organization.<\/p>\n

Uzma asked an amazing amount of incredibly thoughtful questions, not just related to her work, but also about her own path and development. It\u2019s refreshing to see talented individuals like her put so much thought into their future and what they need to get there.<\/p>\n

2. What would you say is the biggest strength your intern brought to Samsung?<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Scott Huson | Division: Mobile eXperience<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Chae brought a quiet focus to the team. She diligently worked through the project we assigned her, as well as a couple of side gigs we got her involved in. She thoughtfully pulled together lots of disparate strands of information and funneled them into focused recommendations and outcomes.<\/p>\n

Ethan was able to work independently and navigate our highly matrixed organization but also still ask questions when needed to be sure he was on the right path. That\u2019s a fine line to walk, and he did it well.<\/p>\n

3. What perspectives did you gain from your intern?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Dana Simone | Division: Display<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Working with my intern, Hannah, this summer renewed my enthusiasm for getting to know my team\u2019s areas of interest and passions, both in and out of the office. For example, she has a deep interest in sustainability, and she\u2019s engaged with it personally, professionally and academically. After learning about her interest, I was excited to work with her on ways to integrate sustainability topics into her internship experience. It was a reminder to take the time to get to know the people on your team and what they enjoy to not only help them grow as professionals, but to foster an exceptional work environment as well.<\/p>\n

I learned that stepping back and providing less direction can sometimes lead to better outcomes, as it encourages the person to take initiative and approach challenges with fresh, creative thinking.<\/p>\n

4. How do you think the intern program shapes Samsung’s future workforce or culture?<\/h3>\n

Scott Huson | Division: Mobile eXperience<\/strong><\/h5>\n

In an era when many companies are cutting back on intern and graduate programs, it is so encouraging to see Samsung continue to invest in this critical pipeline for future talent. Even in an AI-driven world, there is no substitute for humans who know how to deal with humans. It\u2019s smart business to continue to invest in the next generation, and I\u2019m proud to work for a company that gets that.<\/p>\n

Matthew Tham | Division: Corporate Marketing<\/strong><\/h5>\n

As someone who has worked at Samsung over a decade, I\u2019ve seen the impact that Samsung interns and new graduates have on the evolution of Samsung culture.\u00a0Recent graduates are the backbone of the professional and social culture at Samsung.\u00a0The intern program helps build an organization where great work can get done with excellent colleagues.<\/p>\n
