Samsung Announces AppStack, a Cloud Software Marketplace Built for the Way Business is Done Today

7/16/2020

AppStack, Samsung’s cloud software marketplace designed to help businesses modernize and thrive in today’s economy, is coming later this summer. AppStack cuts through a crowded, large enterprise-focused software market, enabling entrepreneurs and small-to-medium sized business (SMB) leaders to transform their organizations to become more productive and agile. It’s a one-stop shop of curated cloud software that helps SMBs save money and time, reduce risk, and accelerate their business, from a partner they can trust.

SMBs are the lifeblood of the nation’s economy and are vital to the U.S. workforce, creating jobs and serving communities. With the sudden shift to a remote workforce and consumers purchasing preferences pivoting online, digital transformation is key for SMBs now more than ever. According to research, 75 percent of SMBs found online/cloud-based business applications extremely valuable during COVID-19¹. Yet, cost and complexity can stand in the way of widespread SaaS app adoption.

“Today, SMBs are navigating a new business landscape that has been completely upended,” said Taher Behbehani, Head of the Mobile B2B Division, SVP and General Manager, Samsung Electronics America. “Many see this as an opportunity to adapt their business, and business software will play an integral role in continued transformation. The launch of AppStack is just the beginning, as we look to enable companies with limited IT resources to quickly modernize so they can focus on what matters most– their business.”

The platform launches with a curated selection of productivity, collaboration and project management tools, featuring G Suite by Google Cloud. Millions of businesses are using G Suite today, and SMBs moving online can access personalized business-grade email, edit Docs and Sheets in the cloud, and take advantage of AI features like Smart Compose and Google Assistant.

“We’re excited to support SMBs’ work and mobility needs with G Suite through our partnership with Samsung,” said Kevin O’Kane, Managing Director, Scaled Partnerships at Google Cloud. “The need for SMBs to support agility, mobility and remote work has accelerated, and deploying G Suite via AppStack gives these important businesses a new, seamless way to leverage our cloud collaboration and productivity solutions.”

Additional founding partners include signNow, Paymo and Time Tracker by Ebillity. Solutions for other business needs from Canva, ClickUp, Pipedrive, Freshbooks, OpenText Hightail, and SealMessenger will be available soon after launch².

How AppStack Helps SMBs – Curated, Easy, Risk-Free

Samsung AppStack simplifies the process of selecting and managing business apps, ushering in digital transformation for businesses, while also saving them money. Until now, SMBs have been without a dedicated resource to help them meet the technology challenges of operating in today’s environment. AppStack addresses this gap, offering a solution to easily discover, deploy and centrally manage business app subscriptions.

Leveraging the buying power of Samsung’s enterprise network, AppStack provides competitive discounts and increased savings based on the quantity of apps purchased. Additional discounts are available when purchasing Samsung devices to pair with the software. Users can also access free trials to test apps on the platform risk-free before purchasing. And they can have peace of mind knowing Samsung has carefully selected and curated AppStack with solutions they can trust for their business.

In addition, AppStack simplifies ongoing management through a centralized billing system. Users can manage all subscriptions from one account and link those subscriptions to Samsung devices, with a single set of credentials.

Users will be able to access AppStack via www.samsung.com/appstack and the Shop Samsung app, where they can explore popular software solutions across categories such as Office Productivity, Business Efficiency, eSignatures, Sales Essentials, Video Conferencing, and Startup Essentials. For each app they select, they can customize the subscription for monthly or annual billing and the number of users before adding it to their cart. SMBs can bundle solutions with devices purchases as well.

What’s Next

This launch this summer is just the starting point for AppStack. Samsung will work closely with partners and AppStack users to continue to improve and evolve the platform, as well as identify and curate additional apps for the marketplace. The vision is to address a broad range of industries and applications.
