Samsung Health & Galaxy AI Offer Personalized Training Tools for Your Race This Fall
Samsung Health’s innovative features are designed to help you crush your goals
8/1/2025
Summer is often when the race season starts to heat up across the country and runners begin to train for the busy fall race schedule. Whether you’re training for your first 5K or gearing up for a full marathon, preparing for a race can be intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. With the Samsung Health App and the all-new Galaxy Watch8 series and Galaxy Watch Ultra, you’re never alone.
The new Galaxy Watch8 series, launched earlier this month, introduces a suite of features aimed directly at runners and endurance athletes. Building on the success of its predecessors, Galaxy Watch8 integrates Running Coach,1 advanced heart-rate tracking2, and more.
“Running is always about the journey — it’s not where you start or where you end. Getting personalized training along that journey can be a challenge, and the same goes for obtaining accurate data on progress and recovery. Now, with my Galaxy Watch, I feel so much more confident while preparing for my next race,” said Victor Zeitoune, Almost Friday Run Club Cofounder.
Fall Race Prep
As you begin to train for your next race, or possibly one of the marquee marathons in Berlin, Chicago, or New York, Galaxy Watch8’s new Running Coach feature can give you a helpful assessment in just 12 minutes. By tracking a range of key indicators, including heart rate, VO2 max, distance, and pace and at the end, you’ll receive a score from 1 to 10 — with 10 signifying that you are marathon ready. Samsung Health will help create a personalized coaching experience — so you don’t just meet your goals, but exceed them. You can even gamify your workouts and compete against friends and family with the Together feature. By the time it’s race day, you’ll be confident and prepared thanks to its personalized approach. To take your training to the next level, users can add Galaxy Buds3 Pro to your race prep so you can listen to your favorite music while on a run.
Smarter Recovery, Stronger Races
Training is only half the battle. Rest and recovery are equally important, and Samsung Health and Galaxy AI3 are packed with powerful tools to make sure you’re able to perform at your best by getting even better rest. A key piece of any recovery program is sleep. That’s why Bedtime Guidance4 measures your circadian rhythm and sleep latency to suggest an optimal time to go to bed, helping you feel rested and prepared for the day. Samsung Health also consolidates these data points to provide you with an Energy Score, which offers a snapshot of your daily physical and mental readiness.
Galaxy Runners Club
For an added layer of motivation, Samsung teamed up with two of New York City’s largest run clubs — Almost Friday Run Club and Midnight Runners — to give participants the latest Galaxy tools to help them reach their goals. Samsung also has been at select NYC races in partnership with NYCRuns to provide interactive rest stations. Stop by one of the races in August to learn more:
