Samsung Introduces Wi-Fi Solution for Hospitality at HX 2016
11/14/2016
New York, NY – November 14, 2016 – Samsung Electronics America, a global leader in hospitality and wireless solutions, is sharing its latest innovations for hoteliers at the HX 2016 event at the Javits Center (Booth #3147), November 13-15. At its booth, Samsung will demonstrate technology that enhances hotel guest experiences through a portfolio of hospitality solutions that include always-on wireless connectivity, elite displays across a hotel property and seamlessly integrated solutions for simplified management.
Central to Samsung’s HX demonstrations is the introduction of a new enterprise Wi-Fi Solution designed specifically for hoteliers — the Samsung Hospitality Wall Plate (WEA412H) access point. This cost effective, highly-reliable and easy-to-implement wireless Internet solution for hoteliers makes it simpler to bring the latest 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology to multi-tenant buildings such as hotels, dorms, or patient rooms in healthcare facilities.
“Wi-Fi quality has become a deciding factor in the guest’s perception of the superiority of a hotel. Samsung developed a solution that reimagines what you should be able to do with Wi-Fi to deliver the level of connectivity that guests desire,” said John D’Annunzio, general manager of Samsung Wireless Enterprise. “With Samsung’s Wi-Fi solutions – beginning with implementing the Wi-Fi infrastructure through connecting all electronics and mobile devices – hoteliers can achieve greater guest loyalty and satisfaction.”
With availability scheduled for December 2016, some key features of the Samsung Hospitality Wall Plate are:
-
- Connect existing CAT 5/6 Ethernet cables or Gigabit cables, reducing the amount of cables required for installations.
- Place wireless access points into individual rooms, instead of hallways, providing guests stronger signals and hotels a more cost-efficient Wi-Fi approach. It is also slim, compact, and plugs directly into a room’s electrical junction box, providing a better room aesthetic.
- The wall plate features IoT connectivity via USB port, future-proofing rooms as hotels evolve and serve guests in a more customized and automated way.
Luxury Hotel Upgrades Connectivity with Samsung Enterprise Wi-Fi
An organization that has selected Samsung hospitality solutions to improve guest experiences is Le Parker Meridien, a world-class New York City hotel. In order to increase brand loyalty and offer guests premium connectivity, Le Parker Meridien adopted Samsung’s Wi-Fi solutions to improve network service, and deliver powerful Wi-Fi to handle their guests’ indoor wireless needs.
“At any given time, we have 800 – 1,400 devices running on our network and during peak evening hours this can be more than 2,000 devices,” said John Yu, Director of Management Systems for Le Parker Meridien. “We needed a Wi-Fi network that provided the capacity to support all of those devices and a partner who could consolidate our sources so we could be more efficient. Samsung not only had the technology solutions to meet our guests’ connectivity needs, but also provided consultation and support to create a seamless technology experience. Since the installation, we have experienced a 30 percent decrease in guest calls related to Wi-Fi help, and an increase in-signal pick-up.
In addition to the introduction of its new Wi-Fi hospitality solution, Samsung is also displaying its latest innovations for hospitality at HX including:
- REACH 4.0 (Remote Enhanced Active Control for Hotels), which enables property managers to centrally control multiple Samsung hospitality TVs and display customized content through the newest displays in the ND694 line.
- Samsung’s content management solution SINC 3.0 HMS digital displays including the 85” UHD QM-D Series Display providing life like image quality with UHD resolution, fine detail, and exceptional stopping power fit for any hotel lobby, conference room or meeting room.
