Samsung Electronics Opens World-Class Showcase for Government Solutions in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C., October 30, 2018– Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today celebrated the grand opening of the company’s new Solutions Center in Washington, D.C. – a multi-use, operational and interactive facility in the District’s iconic Eastern Market neighborhood that will accelerate the company’s leadership presence and impact in the nation’s capital.

The event was hosted by CEO and President of Samsung’s worldwide IT and Mobile division, DJ Koh, and Tim Baxter, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America.

Located at 700 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, the Solutions Center will support and advance agency missions of all kinds through the development of solutions that leverage Samsung’s unique technical strengths. The Solutions Center will also serve as a convening space, offering Samsung B2G customers and other partners the use of secure Wi-Fi, a space to work between meetings, and the ability to talk to technical staff regarding Samsung products and capabilities.

“At Samsung we leverage our deep understanding of and experience with the Federal Government customer to develop mission-ready solutions,” said Terry Halvorsen, Chief Information Officer & Executive Vice President of IT and Mobile Communications at Samsung. “Samsung’s unique breadth of expertise across 5G, tailored mobile solutions, end-to-end security and workforce transformation allow us to drive towards improved government end-user experience and productivity. This new space at 700 Penn is a center for innovation and provides opportunities to engage, support and educate government customers, policymakers and technology leaders.”

As the new home of both Samsung’s Global and U.S. B2G teams and the company’s U.S. Public Affairs function, the facility will include a dynamic suite of offices and opportunities for employees and partners to have a shared collaboration space. The space also includes multi-purpose convening space with the ability to host meetings, fundraisers, town halls, salon dinners, etc. – ranging between 25 and 150 attendees and including multimedia presentations.

By placing Samsung in closer proximity to Capitol Hill, the new Solutions Center will ultimately enable Samsung to educate lawmakers and government customers and other key audiences about the company’s values, history, commitment to customers and commitment to America on a more regular basis.
