On July 27, Samsung celebrated the launch of the Galaxy Studio in Washington, D.C., where guests were able to get hands-on experience and explore the latest Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S8 and S8+, Gear VR with Controller and Gear 360. The grand opening was hosted by on-air personality and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) brand ambassador Nick Cannon, and featured a live musical performance by Country music star and BGCA supporter Martina McBride. Samsung donated $100,000 to BGCA in support of the local Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington, highlighting how the organization is positively impacting and creating change within D.C.’s youth.
Since 2014, Samsung has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America with a shared commitment to empower youth to explore a future in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This partnership is part of Samsung’s corporate citizenship initiative to support children’s education, health and well-being. Together, Samsung and BGCA have developed programs designed to provide STEM learning opportunities and engage in STEM related projects and activities to foster this commitment and help build the future leaders of tomorrow.
“As a company, we aspire to create meaningful, long-lasting change and impact in the communities we work and live in, and empower and inspire doers,” said Zack Overton, VP of Customer Experience and General Manager of 837, Samsung Electronics America. “We are excited to celebrate the official launch of our Galaxy Studio in Washington, D.C., as well as engage our friends at the local chapter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to further help in their mission to inspire and prepare the next generation of creators here in D.C.”
