4/21/2022
Stand up and standout this Earth Day with Samsung’s latest line of stylish, limited-edition sustainable mobile accessories created in partnership with plant-based designer Sean Wotherspoon. Dropping Friday, April 22, the Samsung Galaxy x Sean Wotherspoon Sustainable Accessories Collection includes three cases for the Galaxy S21 and three matching watchbands for the Galaxy Watch4 series, plus complimentary watchfaces available to download in Google Play. Made from 100% recyclable and biodegradable materials, the Samsung Galaxy x Sean Wotherspoon collection is the second in Samsung’s sustainably sourced series which pairs Samsung with the industry’s top eco-conscious designers for a set of sleek and fashionable mobile accessories designed exclusively for Galaxy products.
Sean Wotherspoon, co-founder of Round Two and creator of Sean Wotherspoon Designs, broke onto the scene and into social consciousness with his unique, plant-based sneaker designs in 2018. Since then, Wotherspoon has grown his vegan brand and is now widely viewed as a leader in eco-conscious- fashion, focused on raising awareness of the long-term effects on our planet through his products. For both Wortherspoon and Samsung, the shift towards sustainability doesn’t have to be intimidating for consumers. “From the start, it was clear that we were aligned on our commitment to sustainability and finding real eco-conscious solutions people can use in their everyday lives,” said Sean Wotherspoon. “It’s what drew me to this opportunity. The collection is a simple, yet powerful way for people to show their support of the planet timed to Earth Day.”
Love of Style, Love of Planet
Wotherspoon took his inspiration for his limited-edition line of mobile accessories from his love of family, as well as the beauty and majesty of Mother Earth, a consistent theme found throughout Wotherspoon’s iconic brand. “For this project, I wanted to showcase my hobbies – all the things that make me smile, like my son’s love of dinosaurs or the flowers from my garden. It is my hope that this collection inspires positivity and promotes mindfulness for the world around us,” said Wotherspoon.
The specially curated for Samsung cases and watchbands will come in three matching styles – Orchid, Dawn, and Rain. The watchbands are comprised of an eco-conscious TPU material that is non-toxic, and has no DMF residue in the final products, are non-plasticized, and can be recycled when the time comes. The Galaxy S21 phone cases are also made by 100% recycled TPU materials which utilizes materials that make them fully biodegradable and safe for the environment.
