Samsung lays out Vision for Connected Living powered by AI at CES 2019
1/29/2019
When Samsung took the stage at CES in 2018, we announced a bold vision for Connected Living that involves taking the half a billion devices we sell every year and making them connected and intelligent.
Over the course of 2018, we took important steps to make that vision a reality: first, we introduced a new, consolidated SmartThings app that unites all Samsung IoT platforms including Samsung Connect, Smart Home, Smart View and more. At the same time, we doubled the number of SmartThings-compatible devices, including products from Amazon, Google, Plume, and Ring.
Speaking at CES 2019 earlier this month, my Samsung colleagues and I explained how we’re taking our vision for Connected Living a step further in 2019 thanks to advancements in groundbreaking technologies like 5G and AI – innovations that allow for unprecedented connectivity and enable even more seamless experiences across devices and platforms.
By leveraging our unmatched expertise and depth across consumer technology and IoT, Samsung will for the first time have the ability make people’s lives – or their “user experience” – easier through the creation of a single, ubiquitous, seamless and intelligent connected experience for end users.
With its high speed, data capacity and ultra-low latency, 5G is the connective tissue that holds it all together, allowing us to connect and communicate in ways we could only dream of.
And 5G is here today: The building blocks are being deployed across the country that will quicken the pace and the thinking around transformative 5G use cases.
But while IoT and 5G are revolutionizing how we connect, AI is revolutionizing what our connected devices do. AI is integral to our vision of the future, because it simplifies a complex world, letting customers do more of what they love. And it will dominate technology in 2019.
