On Tuesday, Katie Cheng, Vice President of Home Appliance Marketing for Samsung Electronics America, unveiled the Chef Collection line at Samsung 837 in New York City’s Meatpacking district to a captive audience.

Consumers spend about 60% of their waking hours at home in the kitchen, according to data from Samsung. “We share experiences with family and friends, we nourish our lives as well as ourselves, in the kitchen,” said Cheng, explaining this thinking was the foundation and inspiration for Samsung’s Chef Collection.

“When you spend so much time in the kitchen, appliances need to do more than just serve up cool features. They need to enhance, elevate and inspire.”

Sophisticated yet Simple Connected Kitchen

Whether your inner chef is planning a 5-course, 5-ingredient or 5-minute meal, the Chef Collection premium design and high-tech features simplify meal-prep and meal-execution while allowing consumers to multi-task as busy lives demand of us.

With 28 percent of homeowners now considering integration of smart technology very important when it comes to home renovation, according to a recent Houzz & Home Survey, it’s no wonder Samsung took the time and energy design the Chef Collection with features that allow consumers to connect to their appliances wherever they are.

All appliances in the line are Wi-Fi or Bluetooth enabled for connectivity and control via an app on your smartphone.

The 4-Door Flex™ refrigerator also includes Flex Zone™, a compartment which can easily convert from fridge to freezer with four temperature settings so you can keep ice cream frozen but chill your special dessert on at another temperature.

Chef Collection cooktops and range hoods feature Virtual Flame technology on the induction cooktop which gives the visual look and feel of real flame. Bluetooth enabled hoods turn on automatically with the surface of the Chef Collection pro range and cooktop models, so preventing a smoke-filled kitchen during the making of a feast is no longer an afterthought. For the big holidays, Samsung’s exclusive Flex Duo™ Oven with smart divider allows consumers to convert the oven compartment into two separate independent convection ovens that cook multiple dishes at different temperatures at the same time.
