Samsung’s Marc Mathieu Named One of Adweek’s Most Tech-Savvy Chief Marketing Officers
3/19/2018
On Monday, March 12, Marc Mathieu, chief marketing officer for Samsung Electronics America, was recognized as one of Adweek’s 2018 Most Tech-Savvy chief marketing officers alongside executives from Google, Intel, Lyft and more. The annual list identifies executives that couple innovative technology with marketing tactics to reach and engage with their consumer-base in new ways.
As the marketing chief, Mathieu played an instrumental role in humanizing the brand to turn the company’s most challenging year into its best ever. Ahead of Samsung’s most-anticipated device releases, Adweek credits Mathieu for shepherding “successful launches for the Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note 8, with ads explaining how AI-powered voice assistant Bixby and other features help lighten the load for harried users.”
Under the company’s global mantra, “Do What You Can’t,” Adweek noted Mathieu’s initiative to collaborate with creators to showcase how Samsung products enable everyday people to tell their stories. In its recognition, Adweek also noted partnerships Mathieu forged with Arianna Huffington to create the Thrive time-management app and with The New York Times’ Daily 360 news platform.
