Introducing THRIVE: So You Can Focus Better on What Matters Most
1/16/2018
Today’s world is defined by our “always on” culture. As a company that operates at the intersection of technology and humanity, it’s our goal not to just deliver great products, but to help you have a meaningful and better experience with technology. In some cases, that means helping consumers figure out when, and how, to disconnect from time to time.
That’s something that Arianna Huffington, Thrive Global’s founder and CEO, and I have been talking about for a while now: how to help people strike a better balance with their use of technology. Out of those discussions came THRIVE, an app that works as a planner, coach, and guide to helping you focus on what matters most.
We are excited to begin the rollout to Samsung Galaxy Note8 users starting today. With the new THRIVE App, we’re helping Galaxy Note8 fans find balance in turning off their tech to devote time to other activities such as connecting with important people in their lives, exercise, meditation, doing focused work, or whatever matters most to them. It’s all about empowering people to disconnect, because we believe a balanced relationship with technology actually leads to a more productive, and more fulfilling, life.
With THRIVE, you can do want you want without the distraction and temptation of checking your phone. Simply turn your device on “Thrive Mode,” and set it to 20, 30 or 60 minutes – however much time you need. If you get a call or text while you’re in Thrive Mode, you won’t have to stop what you’re doing to check the notifications. THRIVE automatically replies to your incoming messages by letting the receiver know that you are in Thrive Mode at the moment and when you’ll be online again. That way, you won’t have to stop what you’re doing to check the notification — you’ll be able to carry on without being interrupted and having to pick back up where you left off.
We see the potential in technology to enhance our daily lives. As advancements like artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things combine to help us overcome barriers and free up our time, the question becomes how we’ll use that time. It’s why we’re so excited to invest in innovations like THRIVE.
Partnering to help create the THRIVE App is just one of the many ways Samsung is committed to developing technology that helps people make the most of every moment in their lives. We look forward to continuing to work with developers to create more technologies that help everyone work smarter and live better.
