Giving Back on our 9th Day of Service
10/14/2019
Every October, during Samsung’s Global Month of Giving, Samsung Electronics America closes its offices for a day to give back to the communities in which we live and work. Last week, on our 9th Day of Service, we branched out coast to coast to help our charity partners make even more of an impact with the work they do every day.
Here’s a look at how some of our employees made a positive impact across the U.S.
After receiving training on the organization’s techniques and games used to build students’ conflict resolution, social and leadership skills, employees joined Playworks on the playground at a Newark, NJ elementary school. Playworks’s mission is to create a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active and grow physically, emotionally and socially.
In Plano, TX, at Junior Achievement BizTown, Samsung employees helped students connect the dots between what they learn in school and real-world business situations, helping them to become familiar with basic business and economic concepts.
Junior Achievement also came to Samsung Electronics America offices in Ridgefield Park, NJ, where aspiring entrepreneurs from Parsippany Hills High School collaborated with Samsung employees to innovate new product ideas during a real-world, start-up business modeling activity.
