Samsung Empowers Aspiring Technicians in Texas
8/7/2023
School’s out, but summer learning with Samsung is in full swing for students in Texas.
As part of the company’s commitment to educate and empower the next generation, the Samsung Care Team hosted hands-on workshops, engaging Tech Talks and a Behind the Glass Experience for interested students in local communities.
The summer started at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, Texas, where the Perot Museum Teen Crew worked with Samsung technicians to disassemble and reassemble mobile devices. This activity is part of Samsung’s Behind the Glass Experience that enables students to see what happens “Behind the Glass” of a technology repair center and Samsung mobile screens. This hands-on experience provides a unique look into cutting-edge technology for aspiring technicians.
With the help of Samsung’s “We Come to You” customer service vans, technicians were able to equip students with the necessary tools and devices needed to experience a full Behind the Glass Experience.
Following the demo and disassembly, students had a chance to engage with the devices and ask questions to a career panel made up of repair techs, trainers and training managers.
The excitement continued at the Best Buy Teen Tech Center in Dallas, a recreation center outfitted with Samsung technology, as students explored how the latest devices can help build a brighter future.
Here, Samsung Retail and Customer Care Teams hosted repair demonstrations using some of the students’ favorite devices before passing along the tools to transform the teens into technicians.
The activity also educated students about the rapid evolution of the technology industry and included an interactive career panel about the day-to-day work of technicians and how Samsung trains and supports the Care team.
Over in Frisco, Texas, Samsung employees were able to join the excitement with their families as part of an ongoing Tech Talk series.
“My two teen daughters, Imani and Anya, and I had the opportunity to attend a recent Tech Talk at the Samsung Care Center in Frisco, TX,” said Adeyinka Yarbough, Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition at Samsung Electronics America. “It was an excellent experience to see what goes on behind the scenes in the tech repair world.”
“By getting hands-on engagement fixing a phone screen and putting the device back together, my daughters were able to experience the advanced technology that Samsung has to help our technicians quickly and efficiently when customers have repair requests. The Samsung team did a great job in keeping my teens engaged and I love the company initiatives in pushing STEM awareness to our youth,” she said.
