“We chose Samsung as our technology provider because of its best-in-class education solutions that are tailored to meet the current needs of our staff and students,” Seage said. “As an alum of Christopher Columbus, I want to do my part to enrich the learning experience and build a lasting legacy through the academic success of our students. Samsung display technologies make this possible by enacting positive change across all corners of our campus—from the front office to the classroom.”
Working with Samsung, Seage and his IT team replaced the school’s outdated interactive whiteboards with over one hundred Samsung Interactive Displays, which were installed in every classroom. The seamless setup enabled educators to immediately use the technology as a means to bolster their lesson plans without receiving any additional training. Educators can now stream content, make annotations and access lesson files directly on the displays, making classes more immersive and interactive. The technology also empowers them to help students overcome learning challenges in real-time, as they’re able to wirelessly connect to the Interactive Display, mirror their screen and collaborate from their own laptops and mobile devices, regardless of the device’s operating system. As a result, educators can embrace asynchronous pedagogy that ultimately makes students more engaged and excited to learn.
Samsung’s interactive whiteboards create an engaging classroom, where students can cast their devices onto the board, work through problems and collaborate with their classmates.
“We are proud to partner with an institution like Christopher Columbus High School that continues to make strides in enhancing the student learning experience through reimagined classroom instruction and technology deployments,” said Chris Mertens, Vice President of U.S. Sales, B2B Displays, Samsung. “As interactive solutions permeate every facet of a person’s life, the students are building essential skills like critical thinking, collaboration and problem solving when using these tools. We’re ensuring all of the students are set up for future academic and career success.”
An all-star experience for the students and staff
Beyond the classroom, Christopher Columbus High School installed Samsung’s QM series of digital signage displays throughout campus hallways as well as the cafeteria, staff office and STEAM studios, which showcase real-time announcements and news of upcoming events.

Christopher Columbus High School’s full ecosystem of display technology is tied together with Samsung’s MagicINFO all-in-one content management software. MagicINFO enables school administrators to remotely control all content shared on the displays and unifies communications. In the event of an emergency, MagicINFO is especially important for issuing campus-wide announcements to direct students and staff to safety.
