What Women’s Equality Means at Samsung
8/24/2020
Samsung Electronics America’s unwavering commitment to women’s equality is evidenced by the action we take to create positive change both within our organization and in the communities where we live. That action is reflected across the board from our citizenship programs that foster girls’ interest in STEM to our Women in Samsung Electronics (WISE) ERG, a network created to promote and encourage a workplace culture where everyone can thrive.
One hundred years ago, you did not have the right to vote in the U.S. if you were a woman. Women’s Equality Day celebrates the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment, which granted some women the right to vote on August 26, 1920. The remaining barriers preventing women of color from voting were eradicated 45 years later as a result of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
